Funtastic Class!

My notes. An attempt to be a good student.
Today's the first day of 'Gambar Bentuk' in semester 2 (I don't know what do we call this in English... let's just say it's drawing class). And finally, after 6 long months, I finally get to draw human anatomy! My favorite subject to draw.

An attempt to make Fun Ghoul and Poison Party
After drawing sceneries on last semester, I'm quite happy that this semester I get to draw what I like. And our first lesson was drawing faces; front view, side view, and 3/4 view. We learned a technique on how to keep a face's proportion right. It actually helped me make a better lookin' face and it made making faces easier than it used to be.

By the way, thanks to my doppelganger, Poppy, I got a new notebook! (yes, the one above) On the cover it says "NERDS DIG NOTES" and I do dig notebooks enough to have a couple lying around. Yessir!

  1. Gorgeousness~
And yeah, notebooks are a really sensitive spot for notebook geeks - you just can't have enough. :D
If you don't mind me asking ~ What do you actually study and what might you be after finishing the studies? 8D ♥

  2. Thank you oh so much. X3

Definitely! Every time I see an interesting looking notebook, I can't help feeling like I wanna buy them all. But in the back of my head there's this voice screaming "YOU ALREADY HAVE TOO MANY NOTEBOOKS!"

Well, I'm currently in college; a first year student in the Fine Arts & Design Faculty. I'm aiming on majoring in the Fine Arts department and hoping to be either an illustrator or painter. ^^

  3. Ah, I see, wonderful. ^D^ Must be great studying something that you enjoy. It's my last year [half actually] in high school and I have no idea what to do afterwards. :D As there are no possibilities for me to study in my country and I can't go abroad by myself [health problems. -.- bummer. <.<] then yeah, I'm just lost. :'D

    BalasHapus
  4. Yes, it's really great, but it also has its burden as well. -__-
Oh, so you're under me by a year. But you're so tall O.o

Oh what's wrong with studying in your country? and if you don't mind me asking, what kind of health problem that prevents you to study abroad?

    BalasHapus
  5. Me - tall? :'D I'm really not tall, somewhere around 165 cm~

Why is it a burden? :I

And well, my country does have art schools and stuff like that but the courses are very.. uhm, how to explain.. plain? Like design [clothes/environment], fine art [mostly painting scenery, naked people etc, whch I don't really enjoy] and some other stuff. But I would want to study fashion illustration [there are multiple universities abroad that offer just that] or illustration in general or maybe something doing with digital art/graphics or I just found school in Milan which offers fashion styling or maybe I'd even be interested in fashion marketing. o.o But no, that's too much not-artsy. :'D Anyways - I've always wanted to study abroad~ :]
And my health, well, let's say my body is pretty weak to deal with all the jazz that is life. =D

  6. 165? You're still taller than me. I'm only 150. lol. I feel like a midget.

Well, to me at least, when I feel like I've done something good, there's always things that can just come up and say "your artwork is just ordinary". Sometimes I feel like I need to push harder to survive in the class. Though that's good, but it adds on the stress.

Ah I see. Yeah, my country's pretty much the same. But basically I think we try to explore more things and do like the basics first, then do it with your style. It's like, I don't think that the painting courses here covers up illustration-ish paintings like I like to make, but I just try to learn things up and then explore the techniques and do things like what I wanted it to be.

The technique I just learned in class about faces is supposed to help us draw close to realism. But I feel like I was drawing more of a cartoon-ish graphic-y kinda face. Though some of my friends draw manga faces. lol. We are just free to explore, that's all.

Oh, wow. Really? I hope you feel better soon enough from whatever that you're having right now. I don't wanna think of the worse, but I do want you to get better.

Your artwork has so much potential, please continue to make them. *hugs*

  7. That ''you artwork is just ordinary'' tends to hurt, because mostly it does feel special and different, even if we'd not admit it out loud, but well, that's life. :I Sometimes you can somehow grab on to that comment and prove them wrong! :D

Yes, you do have to know and understand the basics, to develop ''your own thing'' [I learned that the hard way xD]. It's like ''oooh.. so you can use a bit of green to that red dress to make shadows, not just darker kind of red. lol'' :'D

Ah, I love the faces you draw, thay have this ~something~ to them, which make them not ordinary, really. C: When ever I take a look at your pieces I get the urge and inspiration to scribble something myself. ^^

And thank you *humblebow*. I really want to make something out of my drawings and your compliment means a lot. ^^ /Shall keep drawingdrawingdrawing~/ Ah, I love drawing. ^D^

  8. Yeah, I feel like I just need to keep it in my head that all this is for a better me. I'm gonna be better and show to people that I can be an actual artist!

I know right!? It's like there's a gazillion uses for just one color. I wanna try and explore it till the end! I mean, I'm still an amateur and all.

Oh really? I'm honored to be an inspiration to anyone. I feel like how I draw faces just evolves through out the years. I think I'm gonna take a look at my old arts and post it here. lol

You already made a book. THAT's something. ^^
I haven't done anything yet with mine. You're already one step ahead of me.

    BalasHapus
  9. Haha, that book was just for myself so I have a physical something of my stuff from past year, otherwise I have everything on the computer and traditional stuff stored somewhere and.. it's just not working when someone asks to take a look at my stuff. And eh, I just thought of making it public, what if I get lucky and someone buys it. :D lol~

And I would so want to see your earlier drawings! :D I was thinking of looking mine up some time, but I've never got around doing that. ^^''

    BalasHapus
  10. Lol! Oh wow, I'd love to buy it. I like seeing other artist's works. But I have no money -___- I'm thinking of selling my artworks but I dunno how to do that kinda stuff.

Oh, I'll definitely post it here then ^^

    BalasHapus
  11. Well, you could also try making a picture book, it's really easy with blurb.com, `cos there this software where you choose layouts and add text/pics etc. ^^ I think that there would be a lot of people who'd want to own your book, I mean I ABSOLUTELY would buy it, really. ♥_♥

    BalasHapus
  12. Ooh, I gotta try that one. How does it work anyway? Do we need to pay for just designing the layout of our books? Coz I'm broke. teehee.

Oooh, this is a really nice way to make money. lol!
Thanks dear, I'd love to buy your book too!

Oh, by the way, do you have skype or any instant messaging medias? So that we can talk casually here and there. lol

    BalasHapus
  13. You don't have to pay for that software, simply download it and then have fun. :D But you have to buy at least one copy of your book, so it will stay in their homepage for others to see and possibly buy~

    I have skype, yes. ^^ It's shizzle.dizzle. <- with both dots. xD

    BalasHapus
  14. oh I see. then I need to make more book-worthy artwork. ^^

    I've added it ^^
Can't wait to chat with you

    BalasHapus
  15. Wow. With your talent it doesn't look like you really need lessons! What a great notebook!

    BalasHapus
  16. thanks. nah, I still need some fixin' up with my artwork.

dude, the notebook's awesome! lol. I'm just a nerd for notebooks.
